Imbuto Foundation has launched a new learning and sports centre. The centre will benefit over 900 people with free educational services in Masoro, Rulindo District. It is funded by Kate Spade New York’s “On Purpose Fund.” Kate Spade New York is an American fashion and style house with handbags, ready-to-wear, jewelry, footwear, gifts, home décor and more. The centre comprises of sports grounds, a library, learning halls and an IT lab, in order to develop the community by initiating a reading culture and computer literacy while promoting physical and mental wellbeing in the community.

Netflix just announced that the designer and TV personality is slated to host a brand new competition series called Next In Fashion with Alexa Chung as co-host. The show is being described as “high-stakes,” for: The winner will receive a $250,000 (£196,000) prize and an opportunity to debut their collection with luxury fashion retailer Net-a-Porter. Netflix’s Next In Fashion will start off with a pool of designers who will come face-to-face with all sorts of design challenges. Elizabeth Stewart, stylist and fashion editor, and Eva Chen, Instagram’s director of fashion partnerships, are confirmed as recurring guest judges.

Rolling Stone has delayed plans to launch their music charts in challenge to Billboard. The charts were initially set to premiere on May 13, 2019. A new date for the charts has not been announced. Recently it was announced that Rolling Stone’s charts will track the top 100 songs and top 200 albums that will be updated daily. The publication will also launch charts that rank the most-streamed artist (Rolling Stone Artist 500), a chart that tracks the “fastest-moving songs” (Rolling Stone Trending 25) and new artists that are charting for the first time (Rolling Stone Breakthrough 25).

Google has partnered with fashion brand Stella McCartney, Google will build a cloud-based tool that improves data collection and analysis for the fashion industry, enabling key end-users to implement more sustainable management practices across the supply chain. Globally, the fashion industry only accounts for around 20% of wastewater and 10% of carbon emissions. Industry understand the need to better manage the impact of raw material use and how supply chains contribute to air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, land use, water scarcity and cradle-to-grave product models. The first phases of the project will initially focus on cotton, and viscose.

The perfect example of ‘how an idea can become a success.’ Red Fang has recently unveiled their latest single, “Antidote,” through an app written and directed by Wieden+Kennedy creative Ansel Wallenfang. It is the world’s first music video game! The app is mid ’90s–styled, titled Red Fang: Headbang, is available globally for both Android and iOS using either a smartphone or tablet. The idea hit Wallenfang one night, when he simply noticed how he was moving with his phone while watching a music video. Wallenfang worked with W+K Studios, Wieden+Kennedy’s development and production arm, to bring the idea to life.

After South Korean techno DJ Peggy Gou launched her own fashion label, KIRIN in February, Honey Dijon has become second DJ, as she is all set to launch her very fashion brand with Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons.
