Tata Motors has introduced discounts and benefits on its Tata Punch EV, marking the first instance of such offers since its launch in January 2024. This latest offer on Tata Punch EV represents a strategic effort to stimulate sales and enhance the accessibility of electric vehicles in the Indian market.
The discounts and benefits, up to Rs 50,000, primarily apply to the top-spec Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC fast charger (FC) variant. Notably, this maximum discount is available on models with the faster 7.2kW AC charger. However, it’s important to note that discounts may vary from city to city and are contingent upon stock availability.
According to dealer sources, Tata dealerships across India initially received a larger inventory of the top-spec Empowered +S LR variant, prompting the need to expedite the movement of this stock. To incentivize sales, dealerships are offering a flat discount of Rs 20,000 along with insurance benefits and additional dealer discounts, cumulatively amounting to Rs 50,000, depending on unsold inventory.
The Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC variant, equipped with a larger 35kWh battery and a more powerful 122hp motor, offers an ARAI-rated range of 421km, making it an attractive proposition for electric vehicle enthusiasts. Moreover, it boasts premium features such as an electronic parking brake, hill-descent control, a sunroof, ambient lighting, leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and advanced infotainment and driver display systems.
Despite the discounts, the Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC variant remains competitively priced, potentially bringing down the ex-showroom price from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. While this pricing closely competes with other electric vehicles in the market, the Punch EV distinguishes itself through its robust features, performance capabilities, and impressive range.
As the automotive industry transitions towards sustainable mobility solutions, Tata Motors’ initiative to offer discounts on its Punch EV underscores its commitment to promoting electric vehicles and fostering widespread adoption. With these discounts, Tata aims to make electric mobility more accessible and appealing to a broader segment of consumers, contributing to the ongoing evolution of India’s automotive landscape.
