Tata Motors’ Curvv EV to Redefine Electric SUVs

Last week, Tata Motors introduced the production-spec Curvv, set for an official launch on August 7. The Curvv will be available in both ICE and EV variants, with the electric version expected to hit the showrooms first. Ahead of its market debut, key details about the Curvv EV’s powertrain have been leaked, revealing exciting features and capabilities.

Tata Curvv EV Battery Options

The Curvv EV will be offered in two battery options: 40.5 kWh and 55 kWh. The smaller battery, also found in the lower-spec trims of the Nexon, promises a peak range of 465 km. The larger 55 kWh battery is expected to offer an impressive range exceeding 600 km on a single charge. Both variants will feature a front-axle-mounted electric motor. While exact motor specifications are still under wraps, it is anticipated that the smaller battery version will come with a single-motor, front-wheel-drive configuration, and the larger battery pack will likely feature a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup. Additionally, the Curvv EV will support fast charging, allowing it to gain 100 km of range in just 10 minutes.

Tata Curvv EV Distinctive Design and Styling

The Curvv EV boasts a striking design, characterized by its split headlight setup and signature LED daytime running lights located below the hood. The absence of an air dam and the presence of an enclosed nose and front bumper accentuate its EV identity. The front Tata logo doubles as the charging port, adding to its sleek appearance.

The side profile features a coupe-like design with robust, blacked-out wheel arches, a pronounced shoulder line, and an imposing stance. The rear continues the split lighting design, enhanced by silver-finished skid plates at both ends, adding a touch of rugged elegance.

Tata Curvv Interior and Features

While the official cabin details of the Curvv EV are yet to be revealed, it is expected to align with Tata Motors’ new design language, similar to the Nexon EV. Anticipated features include a two-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo and digital touch button control panels.

The Curvv EV will likely have a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a fully digital instrument panel, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a premium music system, ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, and more. These features aim to provide a high-tech and comfortable driving experience.

Tata Curvv Price In India

The all-electric Curvv will compete with models such as the MG ZS EV, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the Maruti Suzuki eVX. The ICE version will rival the Citroen Basalt coupe SUV, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and others. The ICE Curvv is expected to start at around Rs 11 lakh, while the EV variant is anticipated to start at approximately Rs 20 lakh (both ex-showroom).
