About the Author
I wrote my first story in second grade about the unhappily ever after of Cinderella. My teacher had me read it to the class. I hated reading until my dad introduced me to comic books. They were a gateway to choose-your-own-adventure stories, then spy novels, then thrillers, and eventually learned that a perfectly crafted sentence could take me anywhere.
Writing can be both exhilarating and scary, making each work a new experience, whether when working on a novel, a screenplay, or a travel article.
I find excitement in working with others to develop gripping narratives true to the heart of the author’s intention.
I live with my wife and our gigantic dog who demands attention from strangers, our quiet cat who might be plotting my demise, and our daughter who is plotting to corner the cat. I love to spend time writing short stories, novels, and travel essays. When not writing, I am often reading in a cafe, exploring new corners of the world–or undiscovered areas of my city–and hiking through the wild hills surrounding Los Angeles, the untamed nature and beauty of which often surprises newcomers.
