I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Ran Anbar on The Relatable Voice Podcast—what an insightful conversation! D. Anbar, MD, FAAP, is board-certified in both pediatric pulmonology and general pediatrics, offering hypnosis and counseling services at Center Point Medicine in La Jolla, California, and Syracuse, New York. Dr. Anbar is a leader in clinical hypnosis, and his 26 years of experience have allowed him to successfully treat over 8,000 children. He also served as a professor of pediatrics and medicine and the director of pediatric pulmonology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, for 21 years. He also worked as a guest editor and advisory editor for the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis.

What do you want to promote?
I want to promote the idea that all people can learn how to tap into their inner selves and help themselves cope better with life challenges.

Can you tell us what inspired your book and what is the story behind it?
The incredible improvement I have seen in my patients inspired me to tell others how they can achieve similar success.
Tell us about your new book The Life Guide for Teens.
THE LIFE GUIDE FOR TEENS is all about empowerment. This one-of-a-kind self-help book is designed to help teen readers take ownership of their own wellness, problem-solving, and growth. Renowned pediatrician and Psychology Today contributor Dr. Anbar has helped thousands of teens through mental and physical health challenges—not by solving their problems for them, but by helping them tap into their inner wisdom, strength, and resilience.
Throughout the book, readers will learn more about their developing brains, about how hormones can influence their emotions and actions, and about the significant powers of utilizing positive language and imagery. Dr. Anbar never talks down to his readers, but instead offers them a WHY for every tool and piece of advice he shares. Each chapter includes a “Teen to Teen” segment, written by one of Dr. Anbar’s patients for his readers, and each ends with “A Note for Parents,” with tips to help adults guide and support their teens while continuing to foster growth and independence.
Are you working on anything at the present that you would like to share?
Aside from promoting The Life Guide for Teens, and asking people to review this book to help attract more people to read it, I am also hard at work on my third book that will focus on the amazing abilities harbored in the subconscious mind.
What are your goals and aspirations?
My goals and aspirations involved contributing to bettering the world through my activities including my medical and counseling practice, my work through the Jewish community, and by guiding my children to help improve the world.
