The South Korean carmaker, Kia Motors is set to launch the much-anticipated 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift in India today. As the first-ever product introduced by Kia in the Indian market in August 2019, the Kia Seltos holds a special place in the brand’s lineup. Celebrating its fourth anniversary, the updated Seltos aims to make a bold statement in the fiercely competitive mid-size SUV segment. With enhancements and new features, the Seltos Facelift is poised to captivate car enthusiasts across India.
Design Upgrades: The 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift showcases several notable design upgrades. At the front, a larger radiator grille and an all-new bumper exude a refreshed look. Alloy wheels boast new designs, adding a touch of sophistication to the sides. The rear features Carens-inspired tail lamps with a connected treatment, complemented by larger horizontal LED DRLs, further enhancing the car’s visual appeal.
Cabin Enhancements: Responding to market demands, the new Kia Seltos comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof for the first time. This sought-after feature joins the lineup, following the trend set by competitors such as the Hyundai Creta. Teaser images reveal the inclusion of a connected dual all-digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system, elevating the overall cabin experience.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): Acknowledging the growing importance of safety technology, Kia India has equipped the Seltos Facelift with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This feature-rich package includes lane-keeping assist, collision avoidance systems, rear cross-traffic alert, and more. By integrating ADAS, Kia aims to enhance the safety and driving experience of its customers.
Engine Options: Under the hood, the 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift will introduce a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque, replacing the older 1.4-litre turbo-petrol variant. The existing engine options, including the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel, will continue to be available, providing customers with a diverse range of choices to suit their preferences and requirements.
Competitive Pricing and Market Positioning: The base variant of the Kia Seltos Facelift is expected to start at Rs 10.50 lakh (Ex-showroom). This competitive pricing strategy positions the Seltos favorably against its rivals in the mid-size SUV segment, including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, among others. By offering a compelling combination of features, design upgrades, and competitive pricing, Kia aims to solidify its position in the highly competitive Indian market.
