On Thursday, PepsiCo’s snacking brand Kurkure announced that Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan would be the brand’s new ambassador, replacing Akshay Kumar. Kurkure is one of the eight power brands within PepsiCo India’s portfolio and generates over ₹1,000 crore in annual estimated retail sales. Neha Prasad, Associate Director and Brand Lead for Kurkure, praised Khan’s “expressive and entertaining persona,” stating that she personifies Kurkure’s “masaledaar family” with her “exuberance and cheerfulness.”
Khan will be an active part of upcoming Kurkure campaigns, promoting the brand and its products across traditional and digital platforms in India. Kurkure is known for its light-hearted humor and fun-filled moments, and has transformed mundane moments into quirky, over-the-top experiences for over 20 years. PepsiCo also sells salty snacks under the brands Doritos and Lay’s, while Kurkure is manufactured and sold in other countries such as Canada, the UAE, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
