Week 2 of the NFL season has some interesting and exciting matchups on the schedule, but none bigger than the game on Sunday night. The Baltimore Ravens host the Kansas City Chiefs in what could be an AFC Championship Game preview.
Kansas City is the defending AFC champions, and they are currently a big betting favorite to win the Super Bowl this season. The Chiefs picked up a 33-29 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, but they were tested in that game.
Baltimore faced the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night, and the Ravens suffered a loss in that game. The Ravens now face the possibility of starting off the season with two straight losses, but playing at home should help them in this one.
The Kansas City Chiefs are four-point favorites over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
Kansas City Going to Score
The Kansas City Chiefs are going to play extremely fast on offense, and this team is going to put up a ton of points. NFL teams just have not been able to find a way to slow this unit down, and that will put pressure on the Baltimore offense to keep up.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 1 win, and Tyreek Hill racked up 197 receiving yards. The Chiefs are still looking for more balance on offense, but few teams can stop them in the passing game.
The defense of Kansas City will be tested by Lamar Jackson in this game, and that unit struggled at times in Week 1. Stopping the run is a big key against the Ravens, and that could allow the Chiefs to spread this one out.
Ravens Can’t Afford Turnovers
If the Baltimore Ravens are going to pick up their first win of the season on Sunday night, then the offense has to do a better job of protecting the ball. Stopping the Chiefs is hard enough, and the Ravens can’t afford to give Kansas City extra possessions.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for 235 yards in Week 1, and he also picked up 86 yards on the ground. He continues to do a little bit of everything for the Ravens, but he could use some more help in this one.
The defense of Baltimore is one of the better units in the league, but they are facing a massive test in this matchup. The Ravens simply need to limit the explosive plays against Kansas City and make the Chiefs work for everything.
Chiefs Crush Ravens
This is a matchup of two of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL, but Mahomes has more help than what Jackson does. Baltimore is going to have a tough time slowing down the Chiefs’ offense on Sunday night, especially after they failed against Las Vegas.
Kansas City still has some work to do on the defensive side of the ball as well, but the Chiefs always seem to get stops when needed. Look for the visitors to take control of this game in the second half as Mahomes, and that offense simply run away from the Ravens.
Bet the Kansas City Chiefs -4.0 as they go into Baltimore on Sunday night and win this game by double-digits.
