Kama Ayurveda, a well-known Indian beauty brand that uses Ayurvedic recipes, is going through big changes. The brand recently introduced a new face: Gauravi Kumari from Jaipur’s former royal family. Along with this new partnership, Kama Ayurveda is refreshing its image and products.
The announcement was made in Mumbai at a special event full of traditional touches—like vajras (flower garlands) used as wristbands, Ayurvedic consultations, and product-testing areas. The brand is now offering new product lines, updated packaging, and improved versions of old favorites.
Who is Gauravi Kumari?
Gauravi is more than just a brand ambassador. She supports women through the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, which provides job opportunities and skill training. She also runs stores at Jaipur’s City Palace that promote local art, fashion, and design.
She says her connection with Kama Ayurveda is personal. “It’s not just a brand for me. I’ve used their products for years,” she explains. Gauravi likes that Ayurveda focuses on inner balance—between the mind, body, and soul—rather than just external beauty.
She now pays more attention to her self-care routine, bringing back childhood habits like hair oiling. Some of her favorite Kama products include:
- Bringadi Thailam hair oil for calm and nourishment
- Kumkumadi Face Oil used with a Kansa Wand for facial massage
- Rose Water Mist to soothe her skin
- Kumkumadi Silky Serum as part of her daily skincare
What’s New at Kama Ayurveda?
The brand is combining ancient Ayurvedic formulas with modern bio-active ingredients to appeal to younger users. CEO Vivek Sahni says, “We didn’t want to stay only as a brand for older women. We want to connect with the next generation too.”
Their popular Kumkumadi Face Oil now comes in a full skincare range including:
- A Silky Serum
- Soft Cream
- Night Balm
- Eye Contour Serum
- Mask-Scrub
Other product lines include:
- Amarrupa, which targets signs of aging
- Urjasara, made to strengthen the skin barrier
Kama Ayurveda also has big design changes. Award-winning designer Marie-Anne Oudejans is leading the redesign of their stores to reflect Kerala’s beauty.
Spanish company Puig also supports the brand’s growth, increasing its investment to 85% in 2022. This has helped Kama Ayurveda grow both in India and internationally.
With Gauravi Kumari on board and a fresh approach to tradition, Kama Ayurveda is ready to reach a new generation while staying rooted in its Ayurvedic values.
