Even the UN praised India for how India handled the biggest cyclone Fani, and could manage to save many lives. India is again set to launch RISAT-2BR1, it will be launched on May 22 using ISRO’s own Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) called PSLV-C46, from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
RISAT-2BR1 is a Radar Imaging Satellite, it will provide all-weather surveillance using synthetic aperture radars (SAR). RISAT’s are the first all-weather remote sensing satellites from ISRO. However, the configuration of RISAT-2BR1 is different from the previous RISAT’s and brings along improved observation and imaging capabilities.
