Welcome to Season 3 of the Relatable Voice podcast! On today’s episode, we are heading to Quebec, Canada to speak to Franklin H. Ezenwa. Franklin is an author, speaker and IT professional. His new book is entitled “The Identity Manual” and is out now.
• Hello Franklin, Tell me about yourself.
I am an author, speaker and IT professional. My faith is very important to me as it’s shaped my life and continues to do so. Being passionate about helping people to achieve their goals and being the best version of themselves, I share valuable insights through speaking, writing and mentorship. One thing I believe in is that our experiences are meant to benefit others not just ourselves alone. This is one of the reasons I love seeking new experiences. The more experiences I encounter, the more I have to offer to others , at least that’s the way I see it. Also, I love chocolates .
. Where are you from and where do you live?
I am a Nigerian who lives in Quebec, Canada
• What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a voracious reader and continuous learner so I spend most of my free time reading books & articles, taking courses . I also enjoy working out , meditating and connecting with people at social events as I love people.
• Can you tell us a little bit about your journey?
Just as most people, after graduating from the university, I landed a dream job at that time in my field of study. After working there for some time, I started having this strong feeling that I was meant for more and that set me out on a quest to discover what more life has for me. It was in the midst of the quest that I encountered a transformational experience which gave me a glimpse into what I consider to be my calling and mission – helping people to become the best versions of themselves. Ever since then, that mission continues to motivate me to become my best so that I can help other do the same.
• If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Dynamic; loving; charismatic.
• What inspires you?
When I look at the lives of great speakers, coaches, writers, and entrepreneurs, the flame in me sparks into wild fire. These individuals give me hope that I too can achieve my wildest dreams no matter how lofty they may be. That’s why I enjoy listening to and connecting with folks who are impacting the world and transforming lives as that’s what I stand for as well.
• How did you get into writing ?
Honestly it all started after I graduated from the university. I had this passion for helping other people especially students to achieve their goals in the different areas of their lives. This led me to serve as a mentor to a number of them while at the university. Even after graduating from the university, I still had students reaching out to me for advice and counsel in different areas. I enjoyed it and really wanted the opportunity to impact more students and so I realized that having a book would enable me reach more people. That’s how I hopped on the writing journey. Since this was new to me, I decided to purchase a course on writing a book by Brian Tracy, a world renowned speaker, author and coach who has written over 70+ books (he’s one of my role models in the personal/professional development industry). I knew I was in it for the long term and so I decided to go all in to learn as much I as can about writing so that I can produce my best work to impact many lives.
• Can you tell us what inspired your book “The Identity Manual: How To Define Your True Identity, Escape The Identity Crisis & Find Fulfillment”, and what is the story behind it?
A few years ago I hit a rock bottom experience dealing with identity issues ; it wasn’t a pleasant place. I was battling with low self-esteem, comparison syndrome, severe anxiety and lived mostly from a place of fear and scarcity. It wasn’t until I came out from that unpleasant place that I realized I was dealing with an identity crisis. One thing I remember while that was happening was that I told God and myself that when I found a way out from that ordeal I would help as many people get pass and, better still, avoid that crisis. I wanted to reach more people I so decided to start off with a book. That’s how The Identity Manual came into existence .
• Are you working on anything at the present you would like to share?
In addition to the short empowering videos I post on my IG and FB feeds, I am currently open to speaking engagements to share my message. Also, I have 2 courses in my pipeline and coaching programs I’ll be launching to further promote my mission. I am super excited about these.
. What are your goals and aspirations?
I will love to impact the lives of millions of people around the world as part of my mission. To make that happen I aspire to become one of the top globally-renowned speakers in the world while creating programs & courses that’ll transform lives. One of my speaking goals is to deliver talks on TedX stages. I would also love to meet with and even share stages with some of my role models e.g. Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, Les Brown, etc.
