Hello Denise, welcome to BrandEducation! What do you believe would be the most common superpower for a dog?
X-ray vision, because dogs can see through all our layers and understand our true emotions and potential.
Why did you decide to become a pet trainer?
After working in advertising and feeling disconnected from my passion for animals, I pursued dog training, which aligned with my love for understanding animal behavior.
What is the concept behind mindful pet training?
Mindful pet training combines traditional methods with energetic considerations, focusing on the deep connection between pets and their owners.
How did your upbringing influence your career choice?
Growing up without a traditional pet made me curious about animals, eventually leading me to combine my love for animals with my career in pet training.
What role does energy play in pet behavior?
Pets pick up on both their owner’s and other people’s energy, reacting based on the vibes they sense around them.
How did you develop your unique approach to pet training?
By observing thousands of clients, I mapped common pet behaviors to the emotional states and energies of their humans.
What inspired you to write your book?
I wanted to bridge the gap between traditional dog training and personal development, offering a holistic approach to pet guardianship.
How can everyday interactions with pets transform us?
Pets teach us energetic coherence and authenticity, which we can apply to other areas of our lives, including relationships and careers.
What is your philosophy behind the term “Namat Stay”?
It’s a playful take on “Namaste,” representing the connection and light between humans and their pets.
What makes someone a good pet parent?
Authenticity and the willingness to consider your pet’s happiness and well-being make someone a good pet parent.
How does mindfulness in pet training benefit both the pet and the owner?
Mindfulness in pet training creates a deeper bond between pet and owner, reducing stress and improving communication, leading to a harmonious relationship.
What’s the most surprising lesson you’ve learned from working with pets?
The most surprising lesson is how much pets can mirror our own emotional states, teaching us about ourselves and helping us grow in unexpected ways.
What advice would you give to new pet owners who are just starting to train their pets?
Start with patience and consistency. Building a strong bond with your pet through positive reinforcement and understanding their unique needs is key.
