Another milestone for Brand Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Seoul Peace Prize (for 2018) for his “contribution to international cooperation and fostering global economic growth”. The Seoul Peace Prize Foundation presented the award to PM Modi, who is on a two-day visit to South Korea.
As stated by a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Raveesh Kumar, PM Modi was awarded the honour for his efforts in promoting global peace and accord through wide-ranging economic expansion and for the civilizing quality of life.
While accepting the award and dedicating it to the people of India, PM Modi said, “I believe that this award belongs not to me personally, but to the people of India. The success that India has achieved in the last 5 years is due to aspirations, inspiration and efforts of the people of India. On their behalf, I accept the Award and express my gratitude.”
Adding to this, PM Modi was also rewarded with the prize money of $200,000 that he donated to the Namami Gange Fund.
