After appearing on NBC Nashville’s Today In Nashville last week, rising country-pop artist Andrea Vasquez officially releases her emotional acoustic music video for her current heart tugging single, Used To. (Click HERE to watch). The song, which is available on all digital streaming platforms, is getting the attention from media outlets alongside fans on TikTok.
At a time when country music is opening its doors to a more eclectic sound and style, Andrea Vasquez is finally getting the recognition she deserves. “Latino artists are a rarity in country music, but I’m here to help bridge the gap in country music,” says the petite firecracker. “I feel like we have the profound ability to transform and grow our genre. Country music is a language for all, so let’s embrace that.”
Used To, written by Andrea and songwriter friend David Espinoza, embodies the country stylings and values while incorporating a Latin twist. “The inspiration comes from past relationships where you hit that very end where you’re just hanging on by a thread and trying to brush it under the rug, but it’s just not there anymore.”
The video was produced by videographer Acacia Evans, who has worked with numerous country music artists including Ashley Monroe, Bailey Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and more. This dreamy track begins gentle and delicate, embellishing the soft melody into this music video that leads into her signature iconic-sounding voice.
After kicking off the much-anticipated release of Used To, this powerhouse vocalist performed at several locations in Middle Tennessee, including her own night at The Listening Room. She was also the Spotlight Artist of the month for syndicated online radio station Hope Nation Radio and is gearing up for a full-fledge tour in 2022. She is performing tonight (December 6, 2021) at The Listening Room in Nashville and recently took part in the Britney Spears Tribute show in Nashville last week.
