The K-pop sensation Lisa from Blackpink has officially joined Louis Vuitton as their latest brand ambassador, marking a significant milestone in her multifaceted career. Previously associated with Celine, another brand under the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton umbrella, Lisa’s transition to Louis Vuitton was anticipated by fans and fashion enthusiasts alike.
Lisa, born Lalisa Manobal, has been a prominent figure in the fashion world, and her appearances at Paris Fashion Week have always drawn massive crowds. Her involvement with Louis Vuitton was hinted at when she attended their fall 2024 ready-to-wear show in March, creating a buzz among her fans and fashion insiders. Since 2020, she had been a brand ambassador for Celine, even walking in their summer 2022 show in Nice, France.
Lisa’s move to Louis Vuitton coincides with the expansion of her solo career, following Blackpink members’ decision not to renew their individual contracts with YG Entertainment last December. While Blackpink remains with the agency for group activities, Lisa has formed her own management company, Lloud Co., and has recently released a new single, “Rockstar,” in partnership with RCA Records. The song debuted at number four on the Billboard Global 200 chart and became her third top-10 hit.
In addition to her music success, Lisa is set to make her major screen debut in season three of the HBO series “The White Lotus,” filmed in her home country of Thailand.
Louis Vuitton expressed their excitement about welcoming Lisa into their family, highlighting her trend-setting abilities and fearless authenticity. “Across the board, Lisa sets trends and approaches her craft with fearless authenticity,” the brand stated. They praised her bold sartorial choices, which align perfectly with Nicolas Ghesquière’s vision, the artistic director of women’s collections at Vuitton.
Lisa’s debut appearance at a Vuitton show was nothing short of spectacular. She wore black shorts, black hold-up stockings, a ruffled crop top, and a lavishly embroidered frock coat from Ghesquière’s 18th century-inspired spring 2018 collection. Her look was completed with a Pic Trunk camera bag and LV Knot pumps, embodying the brand’s distinctive style.
Lisa joins an impressive roster of Louis Vuitton brand ambassadors, including Zendaya, Emma Stone, Deepika Padukone, Hoyeon, and Ana de Armas. She also shares the brand ambassador title with other K-pop stars like Stray Kids’ Felix, J-Hope from BTS, Hyein from NewJeans, and the South Korean boy band Riize.
With 104 million Instagram followers, Lisa continues to influence the music and fashion industries significantly. She is also an ambassador for Bulgari and MAC Cosmetics, further cementing her status as a global icon.
A Glimpse into Lisa’s World
In a recent interview with W Korea, Lisa described herself as a carefree person, emphasizing her authenticity and openness. “When people think of ‘Musician Lisa,’ each of them has different images, but I think of myself as a carefree person,” she said. “I am not that picky about food, and I am not that sensitive either. When someone asks me to describe myself, I’d say ‘Super Free’ is the word that describes Lisa.”
As Lisa continues to captivate audiences with her music, fashion, and acting, her new role with Louis Vuitton marks an exciting new chapter. With her daring spirit and creative energy, Lisa is set to leave an indelible mark on the world of fashion, just as she has with her music.
