Apple, after struggling to overcome problems with the butterfly keyboard, the brand is planning to abandon the controversial “butterfly” keyboard used in its MacBooks since 2015. It will reportedly move to a new scissor-switch design which will use fibreglass to reinforce its keys.
The first laptop to get the new keyboard will be a MacBook Air model due out later this year, followed by a new MacBook Pro in 2020.
The new keyboard won’t be ready for the 16-inch MacBook Pro expected to be announced this September nor the updated version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
