In line with international oil trends, jet fuel prices rose by 3.3% today, marking a ₹2,941.5 per kilolitre increase, bringing the cost to ₹90,538.72 per kilolitre in Delhi. Commercial LPG, widely used in hotels and restaurants, saw a ₹62 hike for a 19-kg cylinder, now priced at ₹1,802. This is the fourth consecutive monthly increase in commercial LPG rates.
The revision follows two prior reductions in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices, which brought rates to a yearly low before this latest hike. Prices for ATF were last cut by 6.3% on October 1, reducing the cost by ₹5,883 per kilolitre, and by 4.58% on September 1, with a reduction of ₹4,495.5 per kilolitre.
In Mumbai, the ATF price now stands at ₹84,642.91 per kilolitre, up from ₹81,866.13, reflecting similar increases across major cities.
The commercial LPG price hike represents the fourth monthly increase, following smaller hikes of ₹48.5 in October, ₹6.5 in August, and ₹39 in September. The cumulative increase across these months amounts to ₹156, nearly matching the ₹148 reductions seen earlier in the year.
Despite these rising costs for commercial users, domestic LPG prices remain steady at ₹803 per 14.2-kg cylinder, maintaining affordability for household consumers. Petrol and diesel prices also remain unchanged, with petrol priced at ₹94.72 per litre in Delhi and diesel at ₹87.62 per litre, following a mid-March cut of ₹2 per litre.
The adjustments by state-owned fuel companies—Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL)—are based on the monthly average price of global fuel benchmarks and currency exchange rates.
