BALL Watch Engineer II Skindiver Heritage

In the 1960s, BALL Watch Company introduced its first dive watch for adventure-seekers. Today, the new Engineer II Skindiver Heritage enhances the purpose-built functions of its historic predecessors. With micro gas tube luminosity appearing underneath the curved rotating bezel, on the dial, and arranged handsomely on the hands, the watch’s undeniable avant-garde design is sure to entice.

Clear visibility is of paramount importance to divers and explorers. The Swiss cutting-edge technology of micro gas tubes featured on the Skindiver Heritage makes this timepiece highly functional in the darkness of the depths. This technology used by BALL Watch involves encapsulating H₃ gas in glass micro tubes— quite unlike any other luminescent material found in watchmaking. When the H₃ molecules strike the internal-colored surface of the tubes, they emit light without requiring any form of external light or energy source. To add some playful action to this all-black timepiece, the tubes form a combination of rainbow-like colors.

Combined with a black dial, this full-black model reveals a new-wave look while remaining top-notch in safety performance. For easy use under water, the bezel and the crown of the Skindiver Heritage have been finely designed to allow firm grips while wearing gloves. The case and the bracelet are made of stainless steel with a TiC (Black Titanium Carbide) coating, and the subtle-domed sapphire crystal bezel adds style while being a central safety piece of the watch. Unidirectional for better assurance, the bezel is used to accurately monitor the immersion time as well as decompression stops. Water resistant to 200m/660ft and featuring a screwed-in crown, the Skindiver is the perfect companion for underwater expeditions.

The 42mm case features a see-through sapphire crystal case back that offers a unique view of the automatic BALL RR1102 caliber. This movement runs the hour, minute and second hands as well as the day and date functions. Anti-magnetic to 4,800A/m and shock resistant to 5,000Gs, this limited edition of 390 pieces has been designed for explorers and is ready for adventures.

Today, more than ever, BALL Watch is continuing its journey and asserting its role as a key protagonist in the exploration of modern time and the evolution of watchmaking history.

About BALL Watch Company

BALL Watch Company is a timekeeping pioneer and celebrated manufacturer of quality, precise and reliable timepieces since 1891. The company was literally founded by accident. Following a tragic 1891 Kipton, Ohio head-on train collision, American railroad companies appointed Webster Clay Ball “Chief Time Inspector” to supervise newly synchronized timing protocols. This standardized “railroad time” efficiency originated the popular “Be on the Ball” proverb and inspired the future Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) which governs the highest watch timing certification standards today.

About Patrick’s Labs

To provide improvement and even more innovation than in the past, BALL Watch Company established its first spin-off company, Patrick’s Labs.  A Research and Development Center, this new division focuses on its domain of expertise by gathering a wide range of knowledge. Patrick’s Labs enables BALL Watch to be at the forefront of research and innovation by introducing technologically groundbreaking products and solutions.
