Xiaomi is set to reintroduce its T-series smartphones to India after more than four years, with the Xiaomi 17T officially launching on June 4. Recent leaks have shared details about the phone’s expected price, specs, and main features, helping buyers know what to look forward to.
Leaks suggest the Xiaomi 17T may launch in India starting at Rs 59,999. It is expected to come in two versions: one with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and another with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. If these prices are correct, the phone will compete with the OnePlus 15R, OPPO Reno 15 Pro Mini, and Motorola Signature in the premium segment.
The Xiaomi 17T is expected to put a strong emphasis on camera and multimedia features. It may have a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup with a 50MP Light Hunter 800 main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5X optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. All rear cameras could support 4K 60 fps video recording, while the front camera might offer 4K 30 fps recording.
The phone is rumored to have a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and up to 3500 nits of peak brightness. It is also expected to include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos to enhance multimedia and gaming.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T is tipped to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi is reportedly claiming AnTuTu benchmark scores exceeding 2.2 million, suggesting flagship-level performance for multitasking and gaming.
Battery life seems to be another key focus for the Xiaomi 17T. The phone is expected to have a large 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery and support 67W fast charging. While the charging speed may not be the fastest, the large battery and efficient chipset could appeal to users seeking long-lasting performance.
Official teasers have already confirmed parts of the phone’s design, including flat edges and Leica-branded camera hardware. Xiaomi is also expected to launch the phone in multiple color options, including Violet and Deep Blue. Additional reports suggest the Xiaomi 17T could ship with Android 16 out of the box, with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
With its combination of premium cameras, a large battery, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, and a flagship-inspired design, the Xiaomi 17T appears poised to be a strong option for users seeking a balanced premium smartphone experience. However, buyers focused mainly on top-tier gaming performance may still compare it closely with devices powered by the latest Snapdragon flagship chipsets.
