Global apparel retailer UNIQLO has announced that Academy Award-winning actor Cate Blanchett is joining the brand as its new Global Brand Ambassador.
Through this partnership, Blanchett will work with UNIQLO to promote its LifeWear philosophy, clothing designed with simplicity, quality, and longevity in mind, while also supporting humanitarian causes, the next generation, and positive contributions to society.
Tadashi Yanai, UNIQLO Founder and Chairman, President & CEO of Fast Retailing, said: “Ms. Blanchett is one of the greatest actors of her generation, but what inspires us even more is her commitment to mentoring young artists, supporting women, and championing humanitarian and environmental causes. Together, we will work to create positive change in the world.”
Cate Blanchett added: “I admire UNIQLO’s ambition to improve life through LifeWear—clothes that are timeless, affordable, and built to last. I’m excited to support initiatives that help future generations, address the global displacement crisis, and contribute to a fairer, more sustainable world.”
Blanchett is celebrated for her performances in films such as Tár, Carol, The Aviator, Blue Jasmine, and Elizabeth, along with her award-winning stage work. She is also recognised for her leadership in the arts, serving as Co-Artistic Director of the Sydney Theatre Company and co-founder of Dirty Films.
Outside of acting, she is deeply engaged in global causes, serving as UNHCR Global Goodwill Ambassador, member of the Earthshot Prize Council, and supporter of several conservation, humanitarian, and arts organizations.
UNIQLO believes Cate Blanchett is the ideal partner to represent its brand worldwide, as she combines her artistic achievements, humanitarian efforts, and timeless sense of style.
