The Triumph Thruxton 400 has officially arrived in India, bringing back one of the most iconic names in café racer history. This new 398cc motorcycle seamlessly blends classic styling with modern engineering, offering a perfect blend of style, performance, and everyday comfort.
Positioned as the flagship café racer in Triumph’s 400cc range, the Thruxton 400 competes with bikes like the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, and even rivals models such as the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Royal Enfield Scram 440.
1. Classic Racing Design
The Thruxton 400 remains true to its café racer roots, featuring low clip-on handlebars, a sculpted fuel tank, and a bullet-style seat cowl. It also features a new headlight fairing with a round LED lamp, bar-end mirrors, and a minimalist rear section. Four dual-tone paint options give it a retro yet fresh look.
2. More Powerful Engine
Under the tank, the bike is powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 41 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. It’s tuned for strong high-rev performance, paired with a six-speed gearbox, ride-by-wire throttle, and a stainless-steel exhaust for that distinctive Triumph sound.
3. Sporty Riding Position
With lower and narrower handlebars and rear-set footpegs, the Thruxton 400 offers a sportier riding posture compared to the Speed 400. The 43mm upside-down forks, preload-adjustable rear monoshock, MRF Revz tyres, and 300mm front disc with ABS make it agile and confident in corners.
4. Modern Features in a Retro Body
Though it looks vintage, the Thruxton 400 is equipped with switchable traction control, a torque-assist clutch, dual-channel ABS, and a USB-C charging port. Its instrument cluster mixes an analogue speedometer with a multi-function LCD for a balanced classic-modern feel.
5. Low Maintenance, High Quality
Built to the same high-quality standards as Triumph’s larger bikes, it features premium touches such as machined cooling fins, aluminium badges, and a Monza-style fuel cap. It also offers 16,000 km service intervals, a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, and a wide range of accessories under the same warranty.
With its mix of old-school charm and new-age tech, the Triumph Thruxton 400 is set to win over riders who want a café racer that’s as practical as it is stylish.
