Tata Motors has launched the new Nexon Pure+ PS variant in India at a starting price of ₹9.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it the country’s most affordable car to offer a panoramic sunroof. The launch comes as the Tata Nexon crosses the 10 lakh sales milestone in India, further strengthening its position in the compact SUV market.
With the introduction of the Pure+ PS variant, Tata has brought the panoramic sunroof feature down by ₹1.73 lakh, as it was previously available only from the Creative+ PS trim, priced at ₹11.32 lakh. The move makes premium features more accessible to buyers looking for a budget-friendly SUV with modern technology and styling.
The Tata Nexon Pure+ PS is available with multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, and CNG. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions depending on the variant. The petrol manual version starts at ₹9.59 lakh, while the petrol AMT is priced at ₹10.14 lakh. The CNG manual variant costs ₹10.39 lakh, followed by the diesel manual at ₹10.54 lakh and the diesel AMT at ₹11.19 lakh.
Under the hood, the SUV gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The diesel version comes with a 1.5-litre engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT transmission. Tata is also offering the Twin Cylinder iCNG option for buyers looking for a more fuel-efficient alternative.
Despite being positioned as a more affordable variant, the Nexon Pure+ PS comes loaded with features. It includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual digital displays, a six-speaker Harman sound system, automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, a rearview camera, and electrically adjustable auto-folding ORVMs.
The panoramic sunroof remains the SUV’s biggest highlight, especially at this price point. Tata Motors says this is the first vehicle in India to offer a panoramic sunroof under ₹10 lakh.
Commenting on the launch, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said the Nexon continues to be one of India’s most preferred SUVs. He added that the new Pure+ PS variant strengthens the Nexon’s value proposition by combining premium features with multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric.
With this addition, Tata Motors now offers 66 variants in the Nexon ICE lineup and 79 overall, including the Nexon EV range. The launch further intensifies competition in India’s compact SUV segment, especially among buyers seeking feature-rich vehicles at affordable prices.
