Nissan India has named Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan as its new brand ambassador, just as it launches the all-new Tekton SUV. This partnership comes as the company works to grow its presence in India’s rapidly expanding mid-size SUV market.
The new Nissan Tekton starts at ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and is now the flagship model in Nissan’s Indian lineup. Bookings are open, and deliveries will begin on July 20.
By bringing Hrithik Roshan on board, Nissan aims to enhance the visibility of both the brand and its latest SUV. Known for his dynamic on-screen presence and broad appeal, the actor is expected to help the company connect with a broader audience as competition in the SUV market intensifies.
Bold Design and Premium Features
The Tekton stands out with its bold SUV look, including a large front grille, LED headlamps, unique C-shaped daytime running lights, and a muscular bonnet with “Tekton” lettering. Big wheel arches, 18-inch alloy wheels, and modern pull-type door handles add to its style.
Inside, the SUV has a premium cabin with several interior themes and a tech-focused design. Key features include a large infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
The SUV also includes Google Built-in, giving access to Google Maps and Gemini. Other advanced features are adaptive cruise control, an electronic parking brake, paddle shifters, and a powered tailgate.
Engine Options
Nissan offers the Tekton with two turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-litre turbo engine makes 100 hp and 166 Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre version delivers 163 hp and 280 Nm. Buyers can pick a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, depending on the engine.
The smaller engine has a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4 kmpl, while the larger 1.3-litre engine offers up to 18.5 kmpl.
Additional Insight: The appointment of Hrithik Roshan reflects a growing trend among automobile manufacturers to partner with influential celebrities when launching key products. Celebrity endorsements help improve brand recall, but long-term success ultimately depends on the vehicle’s performance, ownership experience and after-sales service. With the Tekton, Nissan is making a strong attempt to regain market share in one of India’s most competitive automotive segments.
