Infinix has expanded its budget smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the new Smart 20, a device that combines modern design, AI-powered features, and practical connectivity tools at an affordable price point. Starting at Rs. 12,499, the smartphone aims to offer premium-like functionality without stretching consumers’ budgets.
One of the most noticeable aspects of the Infinix Smart 20 is its slim 7.7mm profile, complemented by a textured rear panel that gives the device a more refined appearance. Available in Cloudline Blue, Polaris Titanium, Shadow Black, and Sunlike Orange, the handset is designed to appeal to younger users looking for both style and functionality.
The Smart 20 features a large 6.78-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother scrolling and improved responsiveness during everyday use. The panel also supports up to 700 nits of brightness and includes features such as Always-On Display, Dynamic Bar notifications, and enhanced touch responsiveness for wet or oily fingers.
Powering the smartphone is MediaTek’s Helio G81 Ultimate processor, paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The device runs Android 16-based XOS 16 out of the box and includes a suite of AI-powered tools integrated through Infinix’s Folax voice assistant.
Users can access several smart features including AI Writing, AI Eraser, AI Studio, AI Wallpaper Generator, document scanning, song recognition, and scheduling functions. Infinix has also optimized the assistant for multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, and Marathi.
Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the Smart 20 is Ultra Link technology, which allows compatible devices to exchange messages, voice notes, images, and even make calls without relying on a cellular network. The feature works over distances of up to one kilometre, making it useful in areas with weak network coverage or during emergencies.
For photography, the handset carries an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and an f/2.0 aperture, accompanied by an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera app includes a variety of shooting modes such as Super Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Dual Video, Vlog Mode, Panorama, Time-Lapse, and AI-assisted photography tools.
Battery life remains a major focus, with Infinix packing a 5,200mAh battery into the device. The phone supports 15W wired charging and 5W reverse charging, allowing users to share power with other compatible devices when needed.
Durability has also received attention. The Smart 20 carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and is claimed to withstand drops from heights of up to 1.5 metres. According to the company, the handset has undergone more than 25,000 durability tests to ensure long-term reliability.
The Infinix Smart 20 will be available for purchase in India beginning June 12 through Flipkart, with additional bank offers expected to be announced closer to the sale date.
