Motorola has launched its first book-style foldable smartphone in India, the new Razr Fold. This is the company’s most premium phone so far, featuring top-end specs, a large 8.1-inch display, triple 50MP rear cameras, and the latest Snapdragon processor.
The Razr Fold is Motorola’s first book-style foldable, after years of making mostly clamshell foldables in the Razr Flip series. With this launch, Motorola is now competing with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series, Vivo X Fold5, and Google’s Pixel foldables in the premium market.
The Razr Fold starts at Rs 1,49,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The 16GB + 512GB model costs Rs 1,59,999, and there’s a special FIFA World Cup 2026 Edition for Rs 1,69,999. Buyers can get a Rs 10,000 instant bank discount or exchange bonus, bringing the starting price down to Rs 1,39,999.
One of the biggest highlights of the Razr Fold is its massive 8.1-inch LTPO AMOLED inner display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports up to 6,200 nits of peak brightness and is protected by ultra-thin glass. On the outside, the device features a 6.6-inch AMOLED cover display with a smoother 165Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection.
Motorola is also heavily promoting the phone’s camera setup, calling it one of the best on any foldable device so far. The Razr Fold includes a triple 50MP rear camera system featuring a Sony LYTIA 828 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera using Sony’s LYTIA 600 sensor. The device also supports 8K video recording and Dolby Vision capture.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor built on a 3nm architecture. It comes paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola says the foldable is designed to handle demanding tasks, gaming, multitasking, and AI-powered features smoothly.
The battery has also been upgraded. The Razr Fold has a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola says is the largest in any foldable phone right now. It supports 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse charging.
The Razr Fold comes with Android 16 and a seven-year software and security update promise, matching some of the longest support policies in the Android world.
Other features include Bose-tuned stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, IP48 and IP49 water-resistance, and several AI tools integrated with Google Gemini.
With aggressive hardware specifications, long software support, and a premium build, Motorola looks ready to take on the top foldable brands in India’s high-end smartphone market.
