Rising Chinese actress Li Gengxi has been announced as the newest brand ambassador for Italian fashion house Miu Miu.
Li began her acting career in 2018 at just 18 years old and quickly made her mark among China’s new generation of actresses. In 2024, she won the Best Actress award at the Golden Rooster Awards for her role in Viva La Vida, becoming the first actress from China’s “Post-00” generation to receive the honour.
Miu Miu praised Li for her “versatile and vibrant presence,” adding that her fashion-forward attitude reflects the brand’s spirit. Li herself described Miu Miu’s style as “vibrant” and “colourful,” saying she looks forward to exploring “self-expression through fashion” through the partnership.
Li joins other well-known Chinese stars, including Zhao Jinmai, Liu Haocun, and singer Lexie Liu, as part of Miu Miu’s team of ambassadors.
Before this, Li worked with Celine from 2023 to 2024, earning the nickname “Rock ’n’ Roll Princess” for her bold fashion looks. She is also an Emerging Ambassador for Chopard, and she appeared at the Cannes Film Festival this year wearing Chopard high jewelry.
In addition to her growing fashion career, Li continues to shine in film and television. She has been praised for her role in Tencent’s mystery drama The Long Season and most recently appeared in Bi Gan’s sci-fi film Resurrection, alongside Shu Qi and Jackson Yee. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Special Prize in the main competition.
Born into an artistic family, Li now has more than 6.2 million followers across Weibo and Xiaohongshu, solidifying her place as both a screen talent and a fashion icon.
