Mahindra has expanded its Thar Roxx portfolio with the introduction of the new Star Edition (Star EDN), a more premium and visually enhanced version of the SUV. Priced from Rs. 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the Thar Roxx Star Edition is positioned above the standard variants and is clearly aimed at buyers who value bold design, exclusivity, and high-end features, without altering the SUV’s mechanical fundamentals.
Based on the top-spec AX7L trim, the Star Edition focuses primarily on aesthetic upgrades. On the outside, it immediately stands apart with a piano-black front grille and matching gloss-black alloy wheels, replacing the body-coloured grille and silver-finished alloys seen on the regular Roxx. Adding to its visual appeal, Mahindra has introduced a new Citrine Yellow exterior shade as the hero colour for this edition. Buyers can also choose from Tango Red, Everest White, and Stealth Black. A discreet Star Edition badge on the C-pillar further differentiates it from the standard model.
Inside, the Thar Roxx Star Edition adopts a more upmarket and sporty ambience. The lighter upholstery has been replaced with an all-black interior theme, featuring black leatherette seats with suede accents. While the colour scheme is new, the feature list remains identical to the AX7L trim, ensuring no compromises on comfort or technology. Key highlights include ventilated front seats, a sliding front armrest, 60:40 split rear seats with recline, fully automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.

On the technology front, the SUV continues to offer dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It also features AdrenoX connected-car technology with Alexa integration, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, reinforcing its premium positioning.
Mechanically, the Star Edition remains unchanged. Powertrain options include a 2.0-litre TGDi petrol engine producing around 176 bhp and 380 Nm, available only with an automatic gearbox, and a 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering up to 172 bhp and 400 Nm, offered with both manual and automatic transmissions. Notably, all Star Edition variants are rear-wheel drive only, with no 4×4 option on offer.
The Thar Roxx Star Edition is available in three variants:
- Diesel MT – Rs. 16.85 lakh
- Petrol AT – Rs. 17.85 lakh
- Diesel AT – Rs. 18.35 lakh
With its blacked-out styling, refreshed interior theme, and unchanged but capable powertrains, the Thar Roxx Star Edition serves as a lifestyle-focused upgrade. It allows Mahindra to broaden Roxx’s appeal, catering to urban SUV buyers who want rugged character combined with a more refined, exclusive design statement.
