Louis Vuitton has just announced the launch of La Beauté, a new high-end makeup line. This move comes as many luxury brands view cosmetics as a key area for growth.
The brand also introduced Dame Pat McGrath as the creative director for La Beauté. Although her involvement has been known for some time, her official role marks a significant collaboration.
Louis Vuitton said this new beauty line reflects its vision of travel, creativity, and craftsmanship. The makeup collection includes 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms, and 8 eyeshadow palettes, with prices ranging from $160 to $250. The lipsticks are particularly special, as they represent the number 55, which corresponds to Louis Vuitton’s own brand identity.
The launch will commence in China on August 20, followed by a digital pre-launch on August 25, and a global release shortly thereafter. Each product is designed to be both beautiful and collectible, echoing the brand’s rich history in luxury.
The packaging of the makeup is also luxurious, featuring gold accents designed by Konstantin Grcic and showcasing the iconic LV flower, making the items even more desirable.
Despite a slowdown in the luxury fashion market, the beauty segment is thriving, and high-end offerings are likely to attract customers. Although some may not purchase Louis Vuitton clothing, they will surely want to own a piece of this luxury brand, such as a lipstick that complements their stylish Louis Vuitton bag.
