Kaia Gerber is giving her first collection with RE/DONE a distinctly personal touch. The model recently appeared in the campaign for Kaia Vol. 1, her debut full collection with the fashion label, wearing a striking scarlet minidress that combines vintage influences with a decidedly modern silhouette.
The campaign marks an important moment for RE/DONE, with Gerber taking on a role that goes beyond modelling. As a creative partner, investor, and advisory board member, she has helped shape the collection around her own approach to fashion.
For the campaign, Gerber wore RE/DONE’s Walker Dress in the rich “Lipstain” shade. Made from a blend of merino wool and cashmere, the dress has a simple crew neckline and a clean, understated shape when viewed from the front.
The surprise comes from the back.
A dramatic open-back cutout extends almost down to the waist, giving the compact dress an unexpected edge. Small tie closures around the neckline and visible seam details add subtle design elements without taking away from the striking back.

The bold red colour also plays an important role in the look. Rather than relying on elaborate embellishments, RE/DONE uses colour, proportion and construction to make the dress stand out.
Gerber styled the piece with sheer black tights and dark brown patent pointed-toe kitten-heel mules. The combination kept the outfit sleek while adding a slightly retro feel that fits naturally with the collection’s inspiration.
The new collection reflects Gerber’s interest in pieces that feel familiar but aren’t tied to one particular era. Denim, leather and cashmere form the foundation of Kaia Vol. 1, while the designs draw from vintage references, contemporary dressing and elements of Gerber’s personal style.
Her interest in literature also shaped the collection’s creative direction, giving the project a more personal identity than a typical celebrity fashion collaboration.
The campaign itself follows that same approach. In one image, Gerber sits sideways on a chair and looks back over her shoulder, naturally drawing attention to the dress’s open-back construction.

Her brunette hair falls softly over one shoulder, while the styling keeps the focus firmly on the clothing.
Gerber completed the look with softly curled, voluminous hair and a subtle ’90s-inspired makeup look. Defined eyes, lightly sculpted cheeks and pink-nude lips added to the nostalgic mood without competing with the vibrant dress.
For RE/DONE, the collaboration represents another step in its approach to modernising familiar wardrobe staples. The brand is known for drawing on vintage-inspired design while giving classic pieces a contemporary interpretation, and Kaia Vol. 1 extends that idea through Gerber’s personal perspective.
The result is a campaign that feels less like a conventional celebrity fashion moment and more like a meeting of two creative identities. Gerber brings her understated, ’90s-influenced aesthetic to the project, while RE/DONE provides the craftsmanship and vintage vocabulary that shape the collection.
With its combination of rich colour, soft luxury fabrics and unexpected silhouettes, Kaia Vol. 1 introduces a new side of Gerber’s relationship with fashion – and gives RE/DONE a fresh way to tell its story.
