Jeep has marked its 85th global anniversary by launching a special Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition in India. Priced at ₹26.70 lakh (ex-showroom), this limited-edition SUV combines the Compass’s rugged character with exclusive cosmetic upgrades inside and out.
What makes it truly special is its rarity – only 85 units will be available, making it one of Jeep India’s most exclusive Compass editions to date.

What’s new in the Anniversary Edition?
The special edition is based on the Model S variant and introduces subtle yet premium design changes rather than a complete redesign.
On the outside, buyers get:
- Exclusive 85th Anniversary badges on the doors and tailgate
- Stylish all-black alloy wheels
- A more distinctive appearance compared to the standard Compass
Inside the cabin, Jeep has added an elegant all-black theme with Mayan Gold trim across the dashboard, gold stitching on the leatherette upholstery, and matching accents on the centre console. The result is a cabin that feels richer without being overly flashy.

Premium features remain intact
The Anniversary Edition retains the premium equipment already offered on the Compass, including:
- 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- 9-speaker Alpine audio system
- Ventilated and power-adjustable front seats
- Driver memory function
- Connected car technology
Jeep is also offering optional ambient lighting with illuminated panoramic sunroof detailing for buyers who want a more luxurious cabin experience.
Safety and performance
Safety remains a strong point of the Compass. Along with six airbags, the SUV features a 360-degree camera, TPMS, Electronic Stability Control, hill assist systems, ISOFIX mounts, and an electronic parking brake. This edition also adds a digital IRVM with integrated front and rear dashcams, offering additional convenience and security.
Under the hood, nothing changes. The SUV continues with Jeep’s trusted 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 172 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission, while select variants also offer Jeep’s capable 4×4 drivetrain.

The Compass competes with popular premium SUVs including the Tata Safari, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 7XO, and Citroën C5 Aircross.
Is it worth considering?
The 85th Anniversary Edition is less about adding new technology and more about celebrating Jeep’s heritage. For buyers who appreciate exclusivity, the combination of limited production, distinctive styling, and the Compass’s proven off-road ability makes this a unique offering in the segment.
Extra insight
The Jeep Compass has been one of the few monocoque SUVs in India to build a reputation for genuine off-road capability without compromising everyday comfort. Limited-edition anniversary models like this often hold greater appeal among enthusiasts because of their lower production numbers and unique factory styling, making them especially attractive to collectors and loyal Jeep fans.
