Honda Cars India has officially teased the upcoming facelift version of the Honda City ahead of its expected launch on May 22, giving car enthusiasts an early glimpse at the updated sedan’s refreshed styling and upgraded features.
The teaser highlights a sleek new LED light signature, hinting at a more modern front-end design for one of India’s most popular mid-size sedans. While the company has not revealed the complete car yet, recent spy shots and dealership sightings have already offered a closer look at what buyers can expect from the facelifted model.
The updated Honda City is expected to feature noticeable cosmetic changes while retaining the same reliable engine setup that has made the sedan a strong player in the segment.
One of the biggest visual upgrades appears to be at the front, where the sedan is likely to feature redesigned LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights placed along the upper edge of the housing. A connected lighting strip spanning the grille is also expected, giving the car a more premium, futuristic appearance.
The grille itself looks sharper and more refined compared to the current version, while the front bumper adopts a sportier layout. Interestingly, spy images suggest the facelift may skip traditional fog lamps, resulting in a cleaner front-end design.
From the side profile, the sedan largely maintains its familiar silhouette, though newly designed black-finished alloy wheels are expected to add a sportier touch. The wheel size is likely to remain at 16 inches.
At the rear, the facelifted sedan is expected to feature a revised bumper with a cleaner overall design. The older C-shaped styling elements appear to have been removed, while the boot lid now features a more pronounced integrated spoiler for a sharper look.
Inside the cabin, the Honda City facelift is likely to get a larger infotainment touchscreen, replacing the current 8-inch unit. Spy shots also indicate a more upright display layout, giving the dashboard a fresher and more contemporary appearance.
The sedan is expected to support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, adding convenience for modern users. Other familiar interior elements, such as the black-and-beige cabin theme, beige upholstery, ambient lighting, and the existing steering wheel design, are likely to continue.
Under the hood, Honda is expected to retain the trusted 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Transmission choices will likely continue to include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic option.
With updated styling, connected lighting elements, and feature enhancements, the new Honda City facelift aims to strengthen its position in India’s competitive mid-size sedan market while appealing to buyers looking for a blend of comfort, technology, and reliability.
