The Swedish fashion brand H&M is celebrating ten successful years in India with two big announcements: the launch of its H&M Beauty line and the reopening of its flagship store in DLF Mall of India, Noida, in a completely reimagined format.
When the Swedish fashion giant first entered the Indian market in 2015, it wasn’t just about selling clothes; it represented a cultural shift. The long queues outside its first Delhi store signalled a new generation ready to embrace global fashion. A decade later, with over 65 stores across 29 cities and a strong online presence, H&M has firmly become part of India’s everyday style vocabulary.
As part of its 10-year celebration, H&M is stepping into the beauty space with the launch of H&M Beauty in India. The collection, going live on October 2 both in stores and online, features more than 200 products, ranging from makeup to fragrances and beauty tools.
The range includes lipsticks like Satin Icon and Mad for Matte, the multi-use Do-it-All Stick Blush, Never Ending Mascara, and a series of vegan perfumes that promise long-lasting wear. Some of the products have even been developed locally to better suit Indian skin tones and weather conditions. This thoughtful touch shows the brand’s growing understanding of its Indian audience.
“This launch is a milestone in our journey,” says Helena Kuylenstierna, Director of H&M India. “It reflects our commitment to making fashion and beauty more accessible and reaching more fashion aspirers across the country.”
Over the years, H&M has made its mark through collaborations with Indian designers such as Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Anamika Khanna, as well as through localized festive collections. The brand has also made efforts toward sustainability with projects like the Saamuhika Shakti initiative supporting waste pickers, and Water Stewardship programs with WWF India to reduce pollution in textile hubs.
However, as conversations about sustainability grow louder, H&M continues to face the challenge of aligning its fast-fashion model with environmentally responsible practices, a balance it’s still striving to perfect.
Adding to the celebrations, H&M has reopened its DLF Mall of India store in Noida in a brand-new elevated format. The store, spread over 3,395 square meters, is one of the largest in India. With minimalist interiors, bright lighting, and digital styling screens, the store aims to offer a more immersive and personalized shopping experience.
The event was inaugurated by Daniel Ervér, CEO of H&M Group, who was joined by Helena Kuylenstierna and actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who graced the occasion wearing a look from H&M’s upcoming collaboration with Mexican designer Lorena Saravia.
“This re-opening underscores our ongoing commitment to India and our dedication to enhancing the customer experience,” said Ervér.
Helena added, “This year marks not just a celebration of our decade in India, but a reaffirmation of our promise to create meaningful fashion experiences for everyone.”
