I had the pleasure of speaking with Frank DiMaio—author, artist, speaker, and founder of the Emotional Prosperity Network. For decades, Frank worked as a chiropractic physician, helping people heal physically, but his own life journey led him to discover a deeper path of emotional and spiritual healing.
Frank is the author of A Promise Made, A Promise Kept and his latest book, To Be… To Be With…, where he explores emotional prosperity, resilience, and the search for purpose. Our conversation was a powerful reminder that healing is not only about the body, but also about the heart, mind, and soul.
Hi Frank, welcome to BrandEducation! What life experience most shaped you?
It was the moment the Monkey climbed into my wrench for the last time. Transitioning from decades as a chiropractic physician to losing my wife, Judith, was the ultimate collision of my physical and emotional worlds. It taught me that you can’t adjust a soul like you adjust a spine—you have to build the architecture for it to heal itself.
What is emotional prosperity versus success or happiness?
Most people chase happiness like a butterfly, but prosperity is about the bank account. Happiness is a mood; prosperity is a state of being. Emotional prosperity is having the internal currency to handle life’s withdrawals. It’s not just being happy; it’s being wealthy in resilience so that when a storm hits, your account doesn’t hit zero.
When did you realize healing was possible after Judith?
It wasn’t a lightning bolt; it was a millimeter shift. I realized that my life—my “Wrench”—wasn’t broken. It was just jammed. The moment I stopped trying to fix the grief and started to be with it, the gears started moving again. I realized I didn’t need to be over it to be whole.
The book introduces the Four Pillars: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Material. Which pillar do people neglect the most?
Without a doubt, the Spiritual pillar. We get so bogged down in the Material—the external noise—that we forget to anchor our internal dock. When you ignore the spiritual, you’re living on credit, and eventually, the emotional bill comes due.
What is The Tactile Truth?
It’s wisdom you can touch. No theories, no fluff. It’s the grit of lived experience—grounding your history to find your tenacity.
How does emotional prosperity differ from financial prosperity?
Money prosperity is what’s in your pocket; emotional prosperity is what’s in your soul. One can be taken away by a market crash; the other is the only thing that keeps you standing when the market—or life—crashes.
What is The Emotional Prosperity Method?
It’s a systematic approach to turning emotional struggle into lasting inner wealth. We use the four pillars to move you from the Yin of listening to the Yang of doing.

What inspired you to write this book now?
The fruit had to ripen. I spent years in the Storm myself, and I didn’t want to just talk about the weather—I wanted to build the weather vane. I needed to prove the method worked on me before I could offer it to the world. Now, it’s ready.
What does the title To Be… To Be With… mean to you?
“To Be” is the silence in my meditation; “To Be With” is the legacy I’m building through the Network. I want readers to realize they don’t have to choose between self-care and service—they are two sides of the same coin.
Which chapter was the most difficult—or meaningful—to write?
The chapter on The Storm. Reliving the wreckage was hard, but identifying the Rusted Anchors we all carry was the most meaningful. It’s the chapter where I stop being a doctor and start being a human being who just wants to help others find their way home.
What is one simple first step for someone who feels stuck?
The One Inch Revolution. Don’t try to fix your whole life today. Just give me sixty seconds of presence. Put your feet on the floor, name the Monkey in your gears, and decide you aren’t going to let it drive for the next minute. Transformation is just a series of millimeters.
Frank, What’s next for you?
We’re putting an emotional toolbox in every hand. We’re launching the 28-Day Spiral Challenge and growing the Emotional Prosperity Network into a global community. My goal is to take the disquiet out of the driver’s seat and put purpose back at the wheel.
