Lenovo has formed a global partnership with David Beckham, making him the company’s new brand ambassador as it grows its AI-focused projects.
This partnership comes as Lenovo gets ready to be the Official Technology Partner for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. Lenovo aims to demonstrate how AI technology can boost sports performance, improve operational efficiency, and engage fans.
Beckham said that football will always rely on “talent, instinct, and hard work,” but he also noted that AI and data are now helping players, coaches, and fans understand the game better.
Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang called Beckham the ideal partner for the campaign, pointing to his influence in sports, business, and culture, as well as his understanding of innovation and technology.
The campaign is part of Lenovo’s “Smarter AI” initiative, which aims to make artificial intelligence more useful and accessible for businesses and consumers. Beckham will feature in a global marketing campaign starting in May 2026, just before the FIFA World Cup.
Lenovo’s AI strategy will focus on three main areas: performance analytics for athletes and teams, fan engagement through interactive digital experiences, and smarter systems for tournaments and organisations.
Outside of sports, the campaign will show how AI tools can help entrepreneurs and businesses work more productively and efficiently, presenting AI as a practical solution for everyday needs instead of just a technical idea.
