Citroën has officially launched the 2026 eC3X in India, replacing the earlier eC3 nameplate with a refreshed identity and several key upgrades. The electric hatchback starts at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with improved range, additional safety features, and a more premium cabin.
The company has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, allowing buyers to purchase the vehicle at a much lower upfront cost.
Prices and Battery Subscription Option
The new Citroen eC3X is available in three variants: Live, Live (O), and Shine.
Customers choosing the Battery-as-a-Service plan can buy the car from ₹6.89 lakh, while paying a battery subscription fee of ₹2.26 per kilometre. The scheme requires a minimum monthly usage of 2,000km, making it suitable for drivers who regularly cover long distances.
For customers purchasing the battery outright, Citroen is also offering an introductory discount of up to ₹1.50 lakh, bringing the effective starting price down to ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Fresh Exterior Updates
The 2026 eC3X receives several styling improvements, giving it a more modern appearance.
The updates include new projector LED headlights, redesigned 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and electrically adjustable and foldable outside mirrors. The signature LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, black body cladding, and silver skid plate-inspired bumpers continue to give the electric hatchback its crossover-inspired styling.
More Premium Cabin
Inside, the eC3X gets a refreshed dual-tone blue-and-beige interior, replacing the previous all-black theme.
The seats now feature leatherette upholstery, adding a more premium feel. Citroën has also introduced a 7-inch digital driver display, a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, a dashcam, and a 6-speaker JBL sound system, all offered as accessories.
The car continues with its 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Improved Safety
Safety has also received a significant boost.
The top-spec Shine variant now comes with six airbags, while the lower variants offer four, up from just two in the outgoing model.
Other safety features include a rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, and additional driver assistance equipment.
More Driving Range
Powering the eC3X is the same 29.2kWh battery pack, but Citroën has increased its claimed MIDC driving range to 325km, up by 79km from the previous model.
The electric motor produces 57hp and 143Nm of torque, enabling the hatchback to accelerate from 0 to 60km/h in 6.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 107km/h.
Charging from 10 to 100 percent using an AC charger takes approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes, while a DC fast charger can recharge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 57 minutes.
Rivalling the Tata Punch EV
With its updated styling, enhanced safety features, longer claimed range, and flexible ownership options, the 2026 Citroën eC3X aims to strengthen its position in India’s growing electric vehicle market.
The electric hatchback will continue to compete directly with rivals such as the Tata Punch EV, offering buyers another practical option in the affordable electric vehicle segment.
