BMW has launched the M440i Convertible in India, priced at Rs 1.09 crore (ex-showroom). This car blends strong performance with open-top driving, making it a premium fit. It sits between the regular 4 Series and the sportier M4, targeting buyers who want speed and style without needing a full track car.
The M440i Convertible follows BMW’s latest design, featuring a long hood, low profile, and the signature kidney grille. A major update is the new soft-top roof, which replaces the previous hard-top. It opens or closes in 18 seconds and can be used while driving at up to 50 km/h. The car comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and wider rear tyres for better grip and handling.
Inside, the car is designed around the driver. It has a dual-screen setup with a 14.9-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Features include power-adjustable seats with memory, a flat-bottom steering wheel, Harman Kardon audio, wireless charging, and a head-up display. The 2+2 seating means the back seats are usable, but they are most comfortable for short journeys.
Under the hood, the M440i Convertible is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine that produces 374hp and 500Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, ensuring strong performance and stability.
The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. These numbers show it is a true performance car, but it remains practical for daily use.
Priced at Rs 1.09 crore, the M440i Convertible competes with models like the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet in India. While it sits slightly lower in price than some rivals, it offers a strong balance of performance, features, and the appeal of open-top driving.
Overall, the M440i Convertible is for buyers who want more than just speed. It gives you the thrill of open-top driving along with the performance you expect from BMW, making it stand out in the luxury car market.
