Black Dog Soda has named Emilia Clarke as its new global brand ambassador, signalling a new focus on mindfulness, presence, and intentional living. This partnership builds on the brand’s ‘Savour the Pause’ philosophy, which invites people to slow down and reconnect with moments that can be overlooked in our busy, digital lives.
The partnership began with a new brand film starring Clarke, filmed in the scenic Scottish Highlands and inspired by the Northern Lights. The film shows the difference between always recording moments and being truly present. In one scene, while others use their phones to capture the moment, Clarke stops, observes, and enjoys the experience with Black Dog Soda. The story then moves to an art-inspired space, showing how short, intentional pauses can help people feel refreshed.
For the brand, this partnership shows a move among premium brands toward stories with a purpose. Rather than viewing pauses as interruptions, Black Dog Soda sees them as opportunities to be present and recharge before returning to daily routines with a clear mind.
Varun Koorichh, Vice President Marketing and Portfolio Head for Premium and Luxury, said the brand wants to change how people think about pauses in today’s world. He explained that with so much digital noise, people often forget to slow down and enjoy important moments. He also said that Emilia Clarke’s personal story, in which she has talked about putting herself first, taking breaks, and coming back stronger, made her a great match for the brand. The campaign uses storytelling to show that sometimes the best thing you can do is simply pause.
Clarke agreed, saying that busy filming schedules and frequent travel often make it hard for her to stay present. She explained that choosing not to record everything on camera helps her feel grounded again. This shared view made working together easy, and the campaign celebrates being present instead of perfect in a world that is always connected.
In addition to the campaign film, the partnership will appear on outdoor, print, and digital platforms. Black Dog Soda also plans interactive installations that bring the idea of “savouring the pause” to life. These spaces are meant to help people pause and reconnect, supporting the brand’s message beyond just advertising.
