Mahindra has launched the 2026 Scorpio N Facelift in India, with a starting price of Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Although the update does not make a major difference to the SUV’s look, it includes a number of well-considered improvements which make the Scorpio N seem more up-to-date and better equipped, without losing the rugged nature that has contributed to it being one of Mahindra’s best-selling SUVs.
The refreshed Scorpio N is still available in seven versions – the Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8S, Z8, Z8T and Z8L – and comes with both petrol and diesel engine choices as well as manual and automatic transmission options. Those who want off-road capability can also select among the four-wheel-drive diesel models.
Externally, Mahindra has decided to leave the original design mostly unchanged. The SUV keeps its commanding appearance, together with its distinctive LED headlamps, bold grille and muscular shape. The most evident change in appearance is the introduction of new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and the colour range has also been updated with two additional colours – Galaxy Grey and Oceanic – which now join Everest White, Deep Forest and Stealth Black.

In the cabin the differences are much clearer. The dashboard has been redesigned to include a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, together with a new 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The most significant addition is the panoramic sunroof, which replaces the old single-pane one and gives the interior a more upscale appearance.
The Scorpio N still provides a wide range of comfort features, such as ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, a 12-speaker audio system made by Sony, wireless phone charging with cooling facilities and 65W USB Type-C charging ports. In addition, Mahindra has increased the vehicle’s practicality by offering up to 768 litres of boot space when the third-row seats are folded.
Safety has likewise been improved upon. The updated model comes with a 540-degree surround-view camera, bringing the already extensive safety range which includes six airbags, electronic stability control, Level 2 ADAS, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror.

The SUV stays exactly the same in terms of its mechanical specifications. Consumers have the option of selecting either the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-diesel engine, which generates 203 PS, or the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, offering up to 175 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Once again, both engines are available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, according to the model variant.
The Scorpio N is in competition with SUVs such as the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector and Mahindra’s own XUV 7XO, and it also provides an alternative to the Thar Roxx, which is more oriented towards lifestyle.
The Scorpio has been one of Mahindra’s major successes for more than twenty years, and instead of giving the SUV a complete redesign, the company has worked on improving the ownership experience through the use of technological and convenience features while still retaining the robust body-on-frame structure which remains attractive to customers who are looking for a capable family SUV with real off-road capabilities.
The 2026 Scorpio N is intended to draw in both existing fans and new SUV buyers who want a combination of ruggedness and modern comfort, thanks to the inclusion of premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, bigger digital displays, and improved safety technology.
